In this phrase:

The F-22, designed for midair combat, has been irrelevant to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and therefore unused there.

I am translating "midair combat" as:

combate en el aire

is this correct?

Thanks!

He visto "combate aire-aire" o "combate aƩreo".
